Monday's card ran to 21 matches across four continents, and the 10-model TuringStats consensus finished the day 10 of 21. That is a coin-flip return from a panel that was, in several places, almost unanimous. The models did not lack conviction; they lacked the right kind of it.

The biggest surprise was Atalanta. Every one of the 10 models backed a home win against Parma, with 2-0 the most common scoreline and average confidence at 59%. Atalanta lost 0-3. It was not the only clean sweep to fall: Mjallby AIF drew 0-0 with Kalmar FF despite 100% of models calling a home win, and Los Angeles FC went down 1-3 at home to Minnesota United FC against another unanimous panel.

Where the AI got it right

Cruz Azul vs Leon prediction — the panel was unanimous on Cruz Azul and even landed the scoreline. The most common call was 2-1, average confidence 54%, and the match finished 2-1. One of the cleaner hits of the day.

New England Revolution vs Inter Miami prediction — 100% of models backed Inter Miami and the most common score was 1-2. The final was 1-2. Average confidence of 49% understated how well the panel read this one.

Sonderjyske vs FC Copenhagen prediction — a full 10 of 10 on Copenhagen, with 0-2 the consensus score at 60% average confidence. The result was 0-2. The highest-confidence correct call on the board.

Benfica vs Alverca prediction — unanimous Benfica at 63% average confidence, the most confident read of the day. The scoreline missed (3-1 predicted, 1-0 actual) but the winner did not. A narrow, correct call.

Platense vs Central Cordoba de Santiago prediction — 90% of models backed Platense at 45% average confidence. Platense won 2-0, one goal more comfortable than the 1-0 consensus.

Where it got it wrong

The heaviest miss was Atalanta 0-3 Parma. The panel was unanimous, the most common score was 2-0, and average confidence reached 59% — the second-highest figure on the card. None of the 10 models saw a three-goal home defeat.

Mjallby AIF 0-0 Kalmar FF was a different kind of failure. Every model called a Mjallby win, the most common score was 1-0, and the match produced no goals at all. Average confidence was only 46%, a hint the panel itself was not fully settled.

Los Angeles FC 1-3 Minnesota United FC carried the same 100% consensus and a 1-0 scoreline at 50% average confidence. The models got the venue right and the direction wrong.

Elsewhere the panel leaned on favourites who never turned up. Sassuolo were backed by 80% of models at 45% average confidence; they lost 2-4 to Fiorentina. Lorient drew 80% support at 43% average confidence and lost 0-2 to Stade Brestois 29. In the Premier League, Newcastle attracted only 40% of models at 46% average confidence — the least settled call on the board — and lost 0-1 to Everton. Gençlerbirliği S.K. 5-0 Alanyaspor was the most emphatic wrong result of the day against a 60% Alanyaspor consensus.

Models of the day

MiMo V2.6 Pro topped the table with 10 of 21 correct, the only model to reach double figures and the only one to match the consensus record exactly. Claude Sonnet 5.5 and GLM 5.3 followed on 9 of 21 each.

At the bottom, Grok 4.7 and DeepSeek V4 Pro both finished on 6 of 21. Mistral Medium 3.5 recorded 8 of 18 — fewer calls graded, so its tally is not directly comparable with the models that covered the full card.
