Football results Wednesday 4 November 2026: AI predictions review
Football results Wednesday 4 November 2026: the AI consensus got 9 of 18 calls right. A 3-3 in Cardiff, a nine-goal rout in Lens and Fenerbahçe's shock…
Wednesday's card ran from the Championship to the Champions League to Brazil's Serie A, and the ten-model consensus finished the night with a modest return: 9 of 18 correct. Eighteen matches, ten frontier models per fixture, and a final tally that lands squarely in coin-flip territory once the heavy favourites are stripped out.
The biggest surprise came in Istanbul, where Liverpool were the unanimous pick of all ten models and lost 3-2 to Fenerbahçe. Not far behind: Lens 1-9 Como, a result the consensus called correctly in winner only, and a 3-3 draw at Cardiff that no model saw coming. The consensus had been confident on several of its misses, which makes the 9 of 18 harder to dress up.

Full time on a night when the consensus landed 9 of 18 calls.
Where the AI got it right
The champions-elect of the night were Flamengo, and the models read it cleanly. A unanimous Flamengo win call carried an average confidence of 64 per cent, the highest on the card, and the most common scoreline of 2-0 was close enough to the real 3-1 against Gremio. Flamengo vs Gremio prediction
Slavia Praha vs Arsenal prediction was the second-strongest read of the day. All ten models backed Arsenal at 63 per cent average confidence, the most common score 0-2, and the visitors delivered 2-1 in Prague. A one-goal discrepancy on a clean unanimous call is the sort of night the consensus wants more of.
RB Leipzig vs Manchester City prediction held up as well. Unanimous City at 56 per cent average confidence, most common score 1-2, and the actual 3-2 in Leipzig matched the winner and came within a goal of the margin. AEK Athens FC vs Real Madrid prediction was the same story: ten of ten on Real Madrid at 59 per cent, most common 1-2, final 3-2 to the visitors.
Elsewhere the models got the job done with lower conviction. Bristol City vs Wolves prediction was unanimous but only 47 per cent confident, and Wolves' 2-1 win landed exactly on the most common score. Kortrijk vs KV Mechelen prediction went the same way, unanimous at 49 per cent, with Mechelen winning 3-1 against a 0-1 forecast. Borussia Dortmund vs Real Betis prediction was an 80 per cent split at 48 per cent average confidence, and Dortmund's 2-1 win matched the modal score exactly.
Where it got it wrong
The headline miss is Fenerbahçe 3-2 Liverpool. All ten models picked Liverpool at an average confidence of 53 per cent, with 1-2 the most common score. Fenerbahçe vs Liverpool prediction read the favourite and not the game.
Cardiff 3-3 West Ham was the day's least predictable scoreline and the models were unanimous on the wrong side of it, backing West Ham at 52 per cent with 1-2 as the modal result. Cardiff vs West Ham prediction never entertained a draw. Wrexham 2-0 Middlesbrough was similar: ten of ten on Middlesbrough at 53 per cent, most common 1-2, and a home clean sheet instead. Wrexham vs Middlesbrough prediction
In South America, Cucuta vs Santa Fe prediction was unanimous for Santa Fe at 52 per cent; Cucuta won 1-0. Atletico Paranaense vs Vasco DA Gama prediction was unanimous for the home side at 53 per cent with 2-1 the modal score; Vasco won 3-1. FC Porto vs Napoli prediction split 60-40 toward Napoli at 46 per cent, and Porto ran out 4-1 winners.
The remaining misses were lower-conviction calls that still went the wrong way. Viking vs Sabah FA prediction leaned Sabah at 60 per cent and 49 per cent confidence; Viking won 4-1. PSV Eindhoven vs Club Brugge KV prediction was a genuine 50-50 at 45 per cent, with 1-1 the modal score, and Brugge took it 2-1. Rennes vs Olympiakos Piraeus prediction favoured Olympiakos at 60 per cent and 46 per cent confidence; the match finished 0-0.
Models of the day
Gemini 3.8 Flash and Meta Muse Spark 1.3 share top spot with 11 of 18 correct apiece, two clear of the field and two above the 9 of 18 consensus. Claude Sonnet 5.5 and GLM 5.3 followed on 10 of 18.
The middle of the table was crowded: Mistral Medium 3.5 posted 9 of 17, with GPT-6 Luna, Qwen 3.8 Max and Grok 4.7 all on 9 of 18. At the bottom, DeepSeek V4 Pro, MiMo V2.6 Pro and Kimi K3 each finished on 8 of 18, a full three correct calls behind the leaders on a night when nobody broke clear of the pack.
