AI can give a reasoned NBA pick, but no model is close to certain: basketball has fewer upsets than football, yet injuries and rest days swing games late. Across 79 graded NBA games in the last 30 days, the majority of the AI models picked the winner 53.2% of the time, against 50% for a coin flip and 55.7% for always backing the home team. Before every game 10 AI models each pick the winner and a score, and every pick is graded in public.
