Hockey results Tuesday 3 November 2026: AI predictions review
Hockey AI predictions review for Tuesday 3 November 2026: the models went 3 of 4 in the NHL, with Detroit's win in Florida the one call that got away.
Four NHL fixtures, four pre-match consensus calls, and a 3 of 4 record for the ten-model panel on Tuesday 3 November 2026. The misses were few but the one that landed was emphatic: a unanimous Florida Panthers pick went down in a 5-3 Detroit Red Wings win.
The other three calls held, though rarely by the margin the scorelines suggest. Boston's 3-2 win over Vegas came in at 70 per cent backing rather than unanimous, and both Colorado and Calgary needed third periods that were tighter than their final scores imply. The headline number is respectable; the detail is more interesting.

Three of four consensus calls landed on Tuesday night, with Detroit's win in Florida the exception.
Where the AI got it right
Boston Bruins 3-2 Vegas Golden Knights. The panel's least confident correct call of the night, with 70 per cent of the ten models on a Bruins win and an average confidence of just 54 per cent. The most common predicted score was 4-3, so the models had the direction and roughly the shape of the game but not the exact margin. A one-goal home win is a fair reflection of how finely balanced this one looked beforehand. Boston Bruins vs Vegas Golden Knights prediction
Chicago Blackhawks 2-5 Colorado Avalanche. A clean unanimous pick at 67 per cent average confidence, and the models were rewarded with the most comfortable result of the night. The consensus scoreline of 2-4 was one Colorado goal short of the actual 5-2, but the read on the game was sound: an Avalanche side given room to pull away. All ten models backed Colorado, and all ten were right. Chicago Blackhawks vs Colorado Avalanche prediction
San Jose Sharks 1-2 Calgary Flames. Another 100 per cent consensus, this time at 58 per cent average confidence — the lowest of the three unanimous correct calls. The most common score was 3-4, so the panel expected a looser, higher-scoring game than the 2-1 that materialised. The winner was right, the goal count was not, and the models get credit for the former only. San Jose Sharks vs Calgary Flames prediction
Where it got it wrong
Florida Panthers 3-5 Detroit Red Wings. The night's single blemish, and an expensive one in consensus terms. All ten models backed a Florida win, with an average confidence of 63 per cent and a most common score of 4-2 to the Panthers. Detroit instead took it 5-3, scoring five on the road against a unanimous panel. This was not a split call or a low-confidence coin flip — it was the second-strongest agreement of the slate after Colorado, and it failed outright.
The result is a useful reminder of how consensus works on a four-game night. Three unanimous or near-unanimous picks produced three correct calls; the fourth unanimous pick produced the miss. The panel's aggregate record says more about the slate than about any single model's grip on the Red Wings.
Models of the day
Seven models finished 3 of 4: DeepSeek V4 Pro, Qwen 3.8 Max, MiMo V2.6 Pro, Grok 4.7, Gemini 3.8 Flash, Kimi K3 and GLM 5.3. With only one match separating a perfect night from the field, all seven share the day's best tally, and each of them found a way off the Florida bandwagon or simply took the three correct calls and absorbed Detroit.
Three models finished 2 of 4: GPT-6 Luna, Claude Sonnet 5.5 and Meta Muse Spark 1.3. Each dropped two of the four calls, meaning at least one of the three correct consensus picks went astray beyond the Detroit result. No model went 4 of 4, which underlines how little separated the top of the table from the bottom on a night when the majority view was right three times.
