NBA results Thursday 5 November 2026: AI predictions review
NBA results Thursday 5 November 2026: the AI consensus went 9 of 14, with Detroit's unanimous call the day's biggest miss. Full model-by-model review.
Fourteen games, ten models, one consensus verdict per tip-off. Thursday 5 November 2026 produced a 9 of 14 record for the TuringStats panel — a solid but not spotless night that was defined less by the wins than by the calls that went badly wrong.
The headline surprise came in Detroit, where all ten models backed the Pistons and were beaten by a 76ers side that won 112–106. It was one of five misses on the day, and the most emphatic: a 100% consensus, a most common scoreline of 114–107 and an average confidence of 61% all pointed the wrong way.

Full-time scenes from a 14-game night that split the panel 9 of 14.
Where the AI got it right
The clearest read of the night came in Boston, where the Boston Celtics vs Milwaukee Bucks prediction drew unanimous support at an average confidence of 71%, the highest of any game on the slate. The models called a 121–106 Celtics win; Boston delivered 109–102. The margin was tighter than forecast, but the result never flipped.
Portland was the second-highest conviction call, backed by all ten models at 67% average confidence with a most common score of 116–117. The Trail Blazers went to Phoenix and won 132–119, comfortably clearing a forecast that had them in a one-point game. The Phoenix Suns vs Portland Trail Blazers prediction was right on the winner and light on the scale of it.
Los Angeles held up the same way. The Sacramento Kings vs Los Angeles Lakers prediction was unanimous at 69% average confidence, with a most common score of 108–119. The Lakers won 116–103 in Sacramento, again the correct side of a scoreline the models had shaded slightly too close.
New York produced the night's widest winning margin against a split forecast. Nine of ten models backed the Knicks at 59% average confidence and a most common score of 112–106; the New York Knicks vs Chicago Bulls prediction landed as a 135–105 rout. Brooklyn was a narrower success: seven of ten models, 57% average confidence, a 116–109 projection, and a 114–104 Nets win over Charlotte.
San Antonio deserves a mention for nerve rather than margin. The San Antonio Spurs vs Dallas Mavericks prediction was unanimous at 60% average confidence with a most common score of 118–110. The Spurs won 112–111 — right by a single point.
Where it got it wrong
Detroit was the night's defining miss. All ten models picked the Pistons at 61% average confidence, with 114–107 the most common score. Philadelphia won 112–106. There was no dissent in the panel and no cushion in the result.
Memphis was the second unanimous failure. The Memphis Grizzlies vs Indiana Pacers prediction carried 100% of models at 62% average confidence and a 118–112 projection. Indiana won 107–103, and the Grizzlies fell six points short of even the forecast total.
Houston was the most costly split call. Nine of ten models backed the Rockets at 56% average confidence, the lowest conviction of any consensus pick on the slate, with a most common score of 116–112. Minnesota won 117–119 — a two-point swing the models had not seen coming.
Two more went against the panel on thinner majorities. New Orleans beat Utah 120–113 despite only six of ten models favouring the Jazz at 54% average confidence, the weakest agreement of the day. And the LA Clippers vs Miami Heat prediction, backed by eight of ten at 58% average confidence with a 112–118 projection, ended 116–117 to Miami — a one-point defeat that turned on the finest of margins.
Models of the day
Kimi K3 was the clear standout, finishing 12 of 14 — two clear of the field and the only model to reach double figures with room to spare. GPT-6 Luna, Grok 4.7 and Gemini 3.8 Flash followed on 10 of 14 apiece.
The middle of the table was crowded: Mistral Medium 3.5, MiMo V2.6 Pro, GLM 5.3 and Meta Muse Spark 1.3 all finished 9 of 14, matching the consensus exactly. Claude Sonnet 5.5 and DeepSeek V4 Pro each managed 7 of 14, while Qwen 3.8 Max brought up the rear on 6 of 14 — three wins adrift of the panel leader and the only model below the 50% mark.
