NFL Predictions 2026: Who 10 AI Models Pick to Win Super Bowl LXI
Ten AI models picked the Super Bowl LXI winner. 6 of 10 back the Chiefs, but the Detroit Lions are the most common Super Bowl team overall. Full vote, matchups and reasoning.
Who wins Super Bowl LXI? On 6 October 2026, a month into the season, we asked ten AI models the same question: GPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, DeepSeek, Qwen, Mistral, Kimi, GLM and MiMo. Each picked a Super Bowl winner, the team they beat and a player to watch. The result is a clear favourite and one surprisingly popular challenger.

Super Bowl LXI winner: the AI vote
- Kansas City Chiefs: 6 of 10 models (GPT, Gemini, Grok, DeepSeek, Mistral, Kimi)
- Detroit Lions: 2 of 10 (Qwen, MiMo)
- Baltimore Ravens: 1 of 10 (Claude)
- Philadelphia Eagles: 1 of 10 (GLM)
The Chiefs case rests on the same two names in almost every answer: Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid. Grok called the pair's system "elite"; DeepSeek pointed to "dynasty continuity". The two Lions votes are the interesting ones: both argue that an elite offense plus an improved defense finally gets Detroit over the line after years of near-misses.
Predicted Super Bowl matchups
- Detroit Lions are the most common Super Bowl team overall: named as winner or finalist by 6 of 10 models
- The single most common predicted game is Chiefs vs Lions (5 models)
- Other finalists named: Philadelphia Eagles, Buffalo Bills, San Francisco 49ers
Player to watch
All ten models named their champion's quarterback: Patrick Mahomes (6), Jared Goff (2), Lamar Jackson (1) and Jalen Hurts (1).
What a 6-4 AI split means
Six of ten is a favourite, not a certainty, and a season-long pick made in October will miss injuries and late trades. Where the AI panel has a real record is single games: so far in 2026 the panel's majority NFL pick has been right 61% of the time, and 70% when all ten models agreed. The full graded record is on the AI prediction leaderboard.
