Hockey results Tuesday 13 October 2026: AI predictions review
Hockey results Tuesday 13 October 2026: the AI consensus went 8 of 9 across nine NHL games, with one Seattle Kraken upset the only blemish on the slate.
Nine NHL games, ten frontier models, one consensus call per match. Tuesday 13 October 2026 finished with the TuringStats panel at 8 of 9 correct, a record built on heavy favourites landing and one road upset spoiling a clean sweep.
The biggest surprise came in Philadelphia, where the Flyers were backed by 80% of models and lost 2-3 to the Seattle Kraken. Every other result on the slate followed the majority view, several of them at 90% or 100% agreement.

Nine games, one consensus call each: the panel finished the night at 8 of 9.
Where the AI got it right
Minnesota Wild vs Vegas Golden Knights prediction — All ten models took Minnesota and the Wild delivered 4-2. The most common scoreline was 3-2, so the panel got the winner without nailing the margin, at an average confidence of 58%.
Detroit Red Wings vs New Jersey Devils prediction — The models leaned New Jersey at 80%, and the Devils won 5-4 in a game that ran a goal past the most common forecast of 4-5. Average confidence was 57%.
Columbus Blue Jackets vs Florida Panthers prediction — A unanimous Florida pick produced the most emphatic score of the night: Panthers 7-3. The consensus scoreline was 3-4, so the direction was right and the scale of it was not, at 59% average confidence.
Montreal Canadiens vs Buffalo Sabres prediction — Montreal drew 90% support and won 4-3, matching the most common score exactly. Average confidence was 57%.
Carolina Hurricanes vs Washington Capitals prediction — Another unanimous call, another correct one. Carolina won 4-2 against a consensus score of 3-2, with the panel at 57% average confidence.
New York Rangers vs Tampa Bay Lightning prediction — The Rangers took 90% of the vote and won 4-1, comfortably clearing the 4-3 forecast. Average confidence was 57%.
Ottawa Senators vs St. Louis Blues prediction — St. Louis was the pick for 90% of models and ran out 7-2 winners. The most common score was 3-4, making this a case where the panel read the winner but undersold the gap, at 58% average confidence.
New York Islanders vs Vancouver Canucks prediction — The narrowest call of the day, with only 60% of models on the Islanders. They won 3-2, exactly the consensus score, at 57% average confidence.
Where it got it wrong
The single miss came at Philadelphia Flyers vs Seattle Kraken prediction. Eight of ten models backed a Philadelphia win, with 3-2 the most common scoreline and average confidence sitting at 57% — not overwhelming, but a clear majority view. The Kraken won 3-2 instead, flipping the result while landing on the scoreline the panel had predicted. It is the kind of miss that stings precisely because the forecast was so specific: the models had the shape of the game right and the winner wrong.
No other match on the slate went against the consensus. The eight correct calls included three unanimous picks — Minnesota, Carolina and Florida — and two at 90% — Montreal, the Rangers and St. Louis among them. The Islanders result, correct at just 60% agreement, was the panel's thinnest margin of the night and the one that could most easily have joined Philadelphia in the loss column.
Models of the day
Four models shared the best tally on the slate. GPT-5.6 Luna, MiMo V2.5 Pro, Kimi K3 and GLM 5.3 each finished 8 of 9, matching the consensus record exactly and separating themselves from the chasing pack.
Five models landed at 7 of 9: Mistral Medium 3.5, DeepSeek V4 Pro, Qwen 3.8 Max, Grok 4.6 and Gemini 3.8 Flash. Claude Sonnet 5 brought up the rear at 6 of 9, the weakest score of the day and the only model to fall two results short of the headline record.
