Europa League Predictions 2026-27: All 10 AI Models Pick Bayer Leverkusen
Who wins the 2026-27 Europa League? Ten AI models voted after three rounds: all ten pick Bayer Leverkusen, nine see a final against Juventus. Full vote, reasoning and where the models got it wrong.
Who wins the 2026-27 Europa League? We asked ten AI models on 24 October 2026, after three rounds of the league phase: GPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, DeepSeek, Qwen, Mistral, Kimi, GLM and MiMo. Every model saw the same current league-phase table and named a winner, a losing finalist and the player most likely to decide it. The result was the most one-sided vote our panel has produced for a trophy.
For match-by-match picks see AI Europa League predictions this week, and the live Europa League table.
Europa League winner: the AI vote
- Bayer Leverkusen: 10 of 10 models
All ten models picked Leverkusen. The reasons repeat across the panel: a perfect start (three wins, eight goals scored, none conceded, top of the table), squad depth, and the club's recent record in European knockout football. Qwen kept it short: perfect league phase, best goal difference.
Predicted final
- Bayer Leverkusen vs Juventus: 9 of 10 models
- Bayer Leverkusen vs AC Milan: 1 of 10 (MiMo)
Juventus sit fourth after three games (two wins, one draw). The models pointed to their experience in knockout ties rather than their current form. MiMo was the only model to look past Turin, backing AC Milan's attack despite Milan's slow start (19th with a game in hand).
Who decides it? Where the AI models got it wrong
- Florian Wirtz: 7 of 10 models
- Patrik Schick: 2 of 10 (Claude, GLM)
- Granit Xhaka: 1 of 10 (Mistral)
This is the useful part of the vote. Seven models named Florian Wirtz as Leverkusen's match-winner, and Mistral named Granit Xhaka. Neither plays for Leverkusen this season: in our own lineup data from this week, Wirtz was in Liverpool's Champions League matchday squad and Xhaka in Sunderland's. Only Claude and GLM named a player who is actually in Leverkusen's squad (Schick, who appears in their current lineups).
The lesson applies to any AI prediction you read: language models know a club's history better than its current squad, because their training data lags behind transfers. The models were all given the same up-to-date table, which is why the team picks match the standings; the player picks show what happens when a model fills gaps from memory. That is why TuringStats feeds every match prediction recent form, head-to-head results and confirmed lineups when they are available, and grades every pick after the final whistle (see the methodology).
How to read a 10-0 AI vote
Ten of ten is the strongest consensus the panel can give, but it is not a probability of 100%. The Europa League runs through a knockout bracket where one bad night ends a run, and the vote mostly reflects who looks best right now. In single matches, picks where all ten models agreed have been right well over half the time, but far from always; the current figures are on the AI prediction leaderboard.
We will re-run this vote as the competition moves on and add the result to this page, so you can see how the models change their minds.
