AI Correct Score Prediction Today: How Often Does AI Get the Exact Score Right?
We graded 11,000+ AI correct score predictions on 1,149 football matches. The honest answer: about 1 in 10. Here is which AI is best at exact scores, which predicted scorelines land most, and where to get free AI score predictions today.
"AI correct score prediction today" is one of the most searched football phrases on the internet, and for good reason: an exact score is the hardest call in football and the most satisfying one to get right. But how often does artificial intelligence actually nail the correct score? We graded more than 11,000 AI score predictions across 1,149 real matches between April and October 2026 to find out.
If you only want today's picks, they are here: free AI correct score predictions for today, with the predicted score for every match from a panel of ten AI models. If you want to know how much to trust them, read on.
How often does AI predict the correct score?
About one time in ten. Across ten models and every graded match, the exact score was right 9.7% of the time. That is the honest number, and it is roughly what a sharp human tipster achieves too.
The best and worst models are closer than you might think:
- Gemini 3.8 Flash: 11.3% correct scores (the best AI correct score predictor in our data)
- Claude Sonnet 5: 10.2%
- GPT-5.6 Luna: 9.9%
- Mistral Medium 3.5: 9.6%
- Grok 4.6, DeepSeek V4 Pro and MiMo V2.5 Pro: about 9.1–9.2%
- Qwen 3.8 Max and GLM 5.3: 8.9%
The panel's most common predicted score was right 10.5% of the time. Interestingly, agreement does not help much here: even when seven or more models picked the same scoreline, it landed 9.9% of the time. For the match winner, agreement is a strong signal. For the exact score, it is not.
Why the correct score is so hard
Even the most common final score in football happens rarely. These were the most frequent results in our sample:
- 1-1: 10.2% of matches
- 2-1: 9.0%
- 1-0: 8.0%
- 0-1: 7.1%
- 1-2: 6.9%
- 2-0: 6.2%
- 0-0 and 2-2: 5.4% each
No scoreline happens more than about one match in ten. That puts a natural ceiling on any correct score prediction, human or AI. A tip that claims to be "sure" about an exact score is promising something the numbers do not allow.
Which predicted scores work best
When the AI predicted these scores, here is how often the match actually finished that way:
- Predicted 2-0: right 11.8% of the time
- Predicted 1-1: right 11.7%
- Predicted 1-2: right 10.8%
- Predicted 1-0: right 8.9%
- Predicted 2-1: right 8.9%
The AI's favourite lines, 1-0 and 2-1, are its least reliable ones. Models reach for them as safe defaults. A predicted 1-1 or 2-0 is usually a more considered call.
The AI's biggest correct score mistake: too few goals
Real matches in our sample averaged 3.0 goals. The AI predicted scores averaged 2.25. More than half of all matches (58%) had three or more goals, and both teams scored in 56% of them, but the models mostly predicted tight, low-scoring games.
Practical tip: when you read an AI score prediction of 1-0 or 2-1, treat it as "this team should win a fairly close game", not as a forecast that the match will be low-scoring.
How to read an AI correct score prediction
- Read the winner first. The result call (home, draw or away) is right around half the time and much more often when the models agree. The score is a detail on top of it.
- Check the spread. Each match page lists every model's scoreline. If ten models give six different scores, the match is open.
- Remember the base rate. One in ten is a good correct score record. Any source showing far more is hiding its misses.
- Compare with yesterday. Our yesterday page grades every AI pick against the final score, misses included.

Frequently asked questions
What is the best AI for correct score prediction?
In our graded data, Gemini 3.8 Flash had the highest correct score rate at 11.3%, followed by Claude Sonnet 5 at 10.2%.
Can AI predict the exact score of a football match?
Sometimes. AI models hit the exact score about once every ten matches, which is in line with skilled human forecasters. No model can do it reliably every day.
